Regenerative Movement System...
Hi! I'm Jay Kratz, Owner and Founder of META MVMT
I've been a Bodyworker, healer, and functional movement specialist for over twenty years. During that time, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of people recover from injuries, overuse, chronic pain, imbalance, and physical dysfunction of all kinds.
Core Beliefs and Concepts
I believe that most musculoskeletal pain originates from accumulated joint pressure from tension, injuries, overuse, and misalignments while walking and moving in your daily life. Each step generates a conductive energy force, known as ground force reaction, which travels through the bones and joints. When joints are blocked and bones cannot conduct this energy effectively, it leads to deterioration and friction. Correcting this energy conduction is vital for alleviating pain and preventing further damage.
My approach begins with achieving Zero Compression Alignment, centered on the concept of the Zero Line—an invisible vertical line representing the body's center of gravity. Proper alignment along this Zero Line reduces joint friction and degeneration. The Zero Line alignment involves six key body parts, referred to as body codes: pelvis, spine, feet, clavicle, femur, and ribs. When these parts are correctly aligned, the body can achieve zero compression, improving ground force reaction and initiating regenerative processes. Over two years, this method has helped two clients improve their bone density by 10%.
The Story
Previously, my bodywork failed to provide the lasting relief my clients required. As a result, I delved into researching movement philosophies that complemented my background in massage therapy and bodywork.
In 2014, I enrolled in a program called "The Prague School of Athletic Development," which introduced me to various movement philosophies. This sparked my imagination, and I began envisioning a simple formula that combined movement and bodywork for my clients.
This curiosity ultimately led to the creation of META MVMT, which started with a 14-movement program coupled with a bodywork style. When the pandemic struck, I had to shut down my gym and the META 14 program. However, I utilized this time to design a new program and system that has now evolved into the Regenerative Movement System.
My holistic approach, combining decades of bodywork experience with innovative alignment techniques, has created a supportive and effective system for managing and reducing long-term pain, ultimately promoting a healthier, more active lifestyle for you.

It was a life-changer for me!
Do I have to spend all my time with the group?
No, while it's encouraged to come to the retreat if you love META MVMT and enjoy classes, it's ok not attend and do your own thing for some of it.
Will I have my own bathroom and shower?
Yes. There are private showers and toilets in your own room. However, if you'd like an outdoor shower experience, Vida Asana has that option as well.
Can I inform the retreat center of my food allergies?
Yes, there is a registration form that you will fill out as we get closer to the retreat and you can add your food allergies there. This will help the kitchen create alternatives for you.
I've never done a class before. Will it be easy for me to join as a first-timer?
While our movement system is complex, our classes meet everyone at a comfortable place which allows for a deeper understanding, no matter what your level is.
Do I have to get up early and do the 7am class?
You are welcome to follow your body and its energy levels. We had a person at the last retreat who didn't like mornings and after doing classes, she felt like it retrained her body and liked them after going home.
Can I invite friends and family?
Yes! This is encouraged and we have many people who have family members who love META and they are all invited.
What about tipping for shuttle driver?
Anticipate a small Colones offering after every ride for the shuttle driver.
Will Jay be hands on and helping with our mechanics?
Jay will have 2 trained assistants to help with the precise cueing and biomechanics in the classes.
How far away is the beach?
the beach is a 15 minute bike ride or 5 min drive.
